Caol Ila 30 year old 53.4% Bladnoch Forum Bottle

Caol Ila 30yo 53.3%

Bottled 2010, 264 bottles, cask 4684

Nose: Peaty, maritime, tarry, slightly dry and on vanilla. It gains in complexity over time.

Taste: Dry, peaty, on hemp rope, with some soft citric notes, tar, coal, ashes and some seaweeds. The finish is long to very long, drying, peaty, tarry to very tarry, citric, salty and maritime.

General Impression: An excellent old peaty, citric and very expressive Caol Ila.

  1. Raymond Armstrong says:

Didn’t make much profit on these 30 yo’s but I was always confident that they’d sell well …. and they did. Once again, I should have bought a few extra casks, when I went back for more, they were still available but the price had gone up. If you want to buy something, never appear too keen … If you do, the price will rise.
