OB, 57.3%, Bottled : 2008
Colour: Pale yellow.
Nose: Light, floral, with some tobacco leaves, some grassy notes and anis seeds. Diluted, it becomes more pleasant, with additional fudge and vanilla flavours.
Taste: Alcoholic, sweet, sugary, slightly winey, on grapes, a hint of smoke, some toffee and anis seeds. Diluted, it becomes cleaner, malty and more on vanilla. The finish is short, sweet-sugary, on grapes and with a clean maltiness.
General Impression: A young and promising Bladnoch: clean, fresh, malty, and without the roughness associated with very young whiskies. Needs some water to open up.
