I am drinking the Teaninich 27 yo (1982-2010) hogshead 7697 right now.
Nose: green apples and sweet vanilla. Very pleasant nose. Some flowery notes are hiding themselves as well.
Taste: hmm… strange at first. Sweet with just a very little bitter touch in the end. Is that really bottled at 49.2%? Ok, it tingles the tongue a bit, but it goes in ooooh soooo smooth!
Not bad at all. But it just misses that last ‘oooomph’ to lift it from good to great.
Finish: At first you think.. hey, that’s gone fast. But then it comes back to you, in waves of sweet honey and fruity touches.
In short… another darn fine choice by Raymond and crew; and as usual: its money worth for sure !! A very nice and highly drinkable dram, I doubt it will survive the warm summer evenings; for it definitely is a summer dram !
